In spring 2025, ČTK Connect organised a series of three half-day themed meetups focused on the key areas of ESG: environmental issues, social responsibility, and governance and auditing. The events followed up on last October’s ESG meetup – Reporting & Auditing conference. All three sessions were moderated by Veronika Soukupová, the programme’s expert guarantor.
The first meetup focused on environmental topics, specifically climate change, pollution, and the circular economy. Participants discussed preparedness for climate-related challenges, methods for calculating carbon footprints, and effective waste management.
The second meetup focused on the social aspects of ESG, including labour relations, diversity, and community building. Panellists shared their experience in implementing social principles within companies.
The final ESG meetup focused on governance and auditing. Discussions covered corporate values, organisational culture, artificial intelligence, and preparation for ESG audits.
“These events help create a space for expert debate and the sharing of practical experience in the field of ESG, which has become an important part of corporate identity. They are part of a series of activities taking place in the renovated ČTK PressCentrum,” said Petr Orálek, the ČTK’s Director of Strategy and Development.
According to the current legislation, 2025 is the first year in which large companies are required to report on their sustainability approach. At the same time, a significant reduction in administrative burden is under discussion, with proposals to exempt up to 80 percent of companies from the obligation altogether. In response, ČTK Connect is preparing the second edition of the ESG Meetup – Reporting & Auditing conference, subtitled “Lessons from Practice”, to be held on October 22, 2025.
