Companies with economic interests in Croatia and Slovenia can now inform about their activities directly through local news agencies. The ČTK has responded to the demand for communication in these countries, which are not only top tourist destinations for vacations but also increasingly important areas for Czech business. The ČTK has therefore signed an agreement for press release distribution with the Croatian news agency HINA and Slovenia‘s STA. Both agencies provide news to the majority of local media, and are thus the best way to extend press releases to local journalists and, through them, to the public. Thanks to direct cooperation, the ČTK Protext service now offers very favourable prices, comparable to news distribution in the Czech Republic.
The HINA agency, based in Zagreb, was founded in 1990. It is a public medium service and the national news agency of Croatia. All major electronic and print media in Croatia follow its content. HINA provides the largest news production in Croatia, used by publishing houses, television and radio stations, online media, PR agencies, ministries, public institutions, and companies. Up to two-thirds of the daily media coverage in Croatia comes directly or indirectly from the services of the HINA agency.
The distribution of press releases in Croatia through the HINA service includes over 150 Croatian and international media outlets, as well as key political and economic entities. The local OTS service publishes an average of 300 announcements per month.
The STA agency, based in Ljubljana, was founded on June 20, 1991. Before that, only the joint Yugoslav news agency operated in Slovenia. STA is a limited liability company fully owned by its founder – the state, as regulated by a special law. Today, more than 80 journalists and other collaborators handle these tasks at STA, both at the headquarters in Ljubljana and at foreign offices. STA opened its first permanent foreign office in Brussels in December 1995, and today it also has offices in Zagreb and New York.
In Slovenia, the O-STA service ensures the distribution of press releases. The press release is published on the website o-sta.si within minutes of receipt and is sent to a broad range of recipients in the Slovenian media space, including government institutions, public and non-governmental organisations, economic entities, and other interested parties.
The ČTK Protext service, which is part of the non-news activities under the ČTK Connect brand, allows the clients – businesses, public institutions as well as individuals – to use the communication network of the Czech News Agency to distribute their press releases. The release is provided to ČTK's news service subscribers, including media, individual journalists, government authorities, and businesses, in its original form without editorial modifications.
