Representatives of ten Czech media houses met to participate in the Artificial Intelligence Design Sprint workshop at the ČTK PressCentre on March 19. The event was organised by the ČTK Connect non-media division of the ČTK national news agency together with FT Strategies and Google News Initiative. The main topic of the workshop was artificial intelligence and its effective integration in media organisations.
"This was one of the best events that have taken place in the renovated PressCentre so far. I am glad that ČTK can be a mediator of know-how transfer between prestigious global companies and Czech publishers. After the event, both parties made it clear that the workshop had been very useful, that their representatives had enjoyed it and that we would certainly see each other here again," said ČTK Director General Jaroslav Kábele.
In addition to the ČTK's director, Google Strategic Partnership Manager Damir Agovic and FT Strategies Manager George Adelman greeted the participants.
The busy day included a series of practical workshops led by FT Strategies experts and Google News Initiative technical experts. The participants were looking for how to apply AI to specific cases from their practice.
The cooperation between ČTK and Google began last year, when the ČTK Academy, with Google's support, prepared a series of seminars on fact-checking and online tools for journalists, which were primarily aimed at Czech and Slovak journalists.
The Google News initiative, launched by Google in 2018, cooperates with publishers and journalists to combat misinformation, share resources and build a diverse and innovative news ecosystem.
FT Strategies is a specialised media consulting company, owned by the Financial Times. FT Strategies cooperates with news and media organisations around the world to help them solve strategic challenges and innovate with the aid of AI, technologies and data.
