ČTK Academy invites young journalists to educational programme on EU

25.09.2023

Are you an aspiring journalist interested in Europe? Would you like to learn more about how the European Union and the European Parliament work and make European issues more visible? Are you keen to delve into the European elections in 2024? Would you like your voice to be heard in the debate on Europe?

Then sign up for the free three-day training programme of the ČTK Academy, during which we will introduce you to the European institutions and their powers, the role of the European Parliament and MEPs. You will debate with journalists who write and film about the EU, academics who cover European issues in depth, and MEPs as well as other European politicians.

The marathon of events will take place from Monday, November 27 to Wednesday, November 29, 2023. The training sessions and lectures will take place at the premises of the Czech News Agency (ČTK) in Prague, the Prague Congress Centre, the Czech Television and the Czech Radio.

The number of seats in the training programme is limited - only 20 candidates from Prague and regions will be accepted. The organiser will provide free accommodation and reimburse transport costs to those coming from outside of Prague. All participants in the training programme will receive a certificate of completion and the top four will receive an invitation to a work stay at the European Parliament in Brussels.

Requirements for admission to the programme:

✅ professional experience in media (max. three years of experience)

✅ cooperation with national or regional media, public or commercial

✅ completed university studies (bachelor's degree is sufficient) or specialised training

✅ If you are a freelancer, we will ask you to provide a sample of some of your texts or other media outputs.

✅ If you are not working as a journalist in print, TV or radio media but as a content creator, multimedia manager, TV writer, influencer or data specialist, you have a chance, too. Please, get in touch with us.

Please send a short cover letter and CV by Tuesday, October 10 to email: akademie@ctk.cz.
