Četkast, the ČTK’s news podcast, is now available also on the Spotify and Apple Podcast podcast applications. The ČTK’s newsroom prepares an audio summary of interesting news from the news coverage of the national news agency in the audio studio at the Opletalova street no. 5 in Prague. New episodes come out on Fridays.
The ČTK launched its own news podcast in cooperation with Audiotéka in early April. The service has been available only in the Lecton application so far. "We wanted to expand the group of listeners and increase the availability of our podcast in other services," said ČTK managing editor Zdeněk Fučík, who is responsible for the new service.
Četkast brings mostly atemporal news and interesting facts from both home and abroad. The podcast presenters have a lot to chose from, as the ČTK releases 450 up to 600 news items daily. The latest episode features the travelling of couples in love during the coronavirus epidemic, the presidential campaign of US rapper Kanye West and the assets of billionaire Jeff Bezos.

The ČTK should also transmit its own podcasts from the Summer Film School (LFŠ) in Uherské Hradiště, which is to start – provided that the epidemiological situation in the region permits – on August 7. The national news agency is one of the film festival’s media partners. Interviews with festival organisers and guests will be available on the ČTK’s and the LFŠ’s websites and social media, on the Ceskenoviny.cz news website and via the Spotify, Apple Podcast and Lecton podcast applications.
