Jan Vavrusak, deputy to the CTK editor-in-chief, was elected the new chairman of the Self-regulatory Committee of the Association for Internet Development in the Czech Republic (SPIR) on Friday, October 5.
The committee is creating and recommending standards of the publishers’ conduct, provides a clear interpretation of legislative restrictions and defines the best practices. These recommendations should help users avoid a risk of sanctions. In the past, the committee dealt primarily with the rules of using content on the Internet, later the self-regulation was also extended to apply to personal data protection, among others.
Jan Vavrusak has replaced CTK Strategy and Development Director Jaroslav Kabele, who was elected to the SPIR Executive Board, at the SPIR committee’s head. CTK has had its representative in the SPIR committee since its establishment.
