The Czech News Agency’s Photobank is a traditional producer and provider of photography and it has been active in both the domestic and international markets since 1918. Throughout the period of its existence, a representative and timeless collection of photographs has been established thanks to the agency’s own production and that of partner agencies.

At the end of the 1990s, the first photographs were made accessible to clients and the public via the internet for the first time. At present there are over a million photographs online and several million more are available in extensive archive databases. Work is continuing on the ongoing digitalisation process. VÍCE INFORMACÍ

The Czech News Agency’s Photobank has developed into a database of domestic and international images of various types and genres for a wide spectrum of uses in accordance with the needs of our media clients, publishing houses, commercial companies and private individuals.

The clear division of the contents according to topics together with the advanced search system enables users to find the required photographs. The system of key words and other search parameters, which guarantees the precision and relevance of the search results, is unique.

All of the photographs are licensed for editorial and creative use.

Photo News concentrates on the areas of politics, economics, culture, sport and society and comprehensively covers the events in the Czech Republic and over the world. The photographs are supplied in real time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

It is one of the oldest and most extensive such archives in Europe and it offers the greatest selection of Czech photography. The extensive photographic archive from the international Associated Press agency containing more than 10 million photographs is accessible at its own domain on www.apimages.com. Approximately two million photographs are accessible online, where they are divided into the Editorial, Historical, Publicity and other sections.
The sophisticated setting of the search parameters simplifies to the search results and makes them more precise. CTK Photobank exclusively represents the AP in the Czech market during the sale of these photographs.
